I started playing baseball in the third grade of elementary school. As an adult, I play for “Dreams,” a local sandlot baseball team in Takehara, as either catcher or third baseman. We have a game every month, and I practice hard so we will win. I also play catcher and shortstop with the company’s softball team. Last season, we won the championship in the Hachihonmatsu League, which is held from April to October every year. Of course, our goal this season also is to be league champion. Every day is very fulfilling, with a good balance between work and my private life.

I always spend my days off with my family of five (me, my wife, and our three children). We are out doing something together every week, such as our oldest daughter’s dance recital, our oldest son’s judo tournament, going out to eat, having a barbecue, or taking a family trip to Universal Studios Japan. I also want to go camping, once our 1-year-old son gets a little bigger. On weekdays I get home just after 6 pm, so I’m able to enjoy a lively dinner with my entire family. I’m happy that having little overtime work and a short commute allows me to spend a lot of time with my family.
